About Ema Cardenas
Ema Cardenas was a 2022 Barbell Club member who inspired many. From the beginning, her commitment and love for the program was clear. Ema never missed a class; she was always willing to tackle new challenges, and it was a joy to see her build strength and confidence. She inspired her teammates and coaches alike with her positive attitude, and all of us at the Barbell Club were devastated to learn of her unexpected passing.
This is why we created the Ema Cardenas Scholarship Fund, in hopes that future students may benefit from the self-confidence and sense of accomplishment that the Barbell Club can provide, and to honor one of its most promising young members.
Annually, Raise the Bar Initiative will award The Ema Cardenas Scholarship Fund to a high school senior student to be used toward continuing education expenses. For the student to be eligible for consideration, they must successfully complete at least one Barbell Club six-week session during their high school career.
